Introductory text
New millennium, new dynamism! Claude Satinet and Jean-Pierre Ploue, respectively in charge of the company's brand and style, want to completely revamp Citroën's image. The first C4 is the first result of their efforts in late 2004, and a fine illustration of their boldness and inventiveness.
Replacing the Xsara, it is proposed with two difference aerodynamic profiles: saloon and coupe. Both have exciting new features such as the centralised controls on the steering wheel and a system to detect involuntary crossing of white lines.
Its commercial success is echoed by the many victories of the Citroën World Rally Team with the sports version C4 WRC. Several international variants are also a success, notably in China. When the next-generation C4 arrives in 2010, 2,300,000 series C4 have already been sold!
